I’m pleased to announce that I joined Lyris, Inc. this week as the new Communications Director focused on analyst relations, branding, customer advocacy, public relations, thought leadership and Web 2.0 strategies, programs and results. Lyris is an online marketing solutions leader based in the San Francisco Bay Area -- a company that delivers the right mix of software technology and industry knowledge to help SMB, mid-market and enterprise customers simplify their marketing efforts and optimize campaign ROI.
The first day on the job was uplifting as I found myself on a plane with Blaine Mathieu, our CMO and my new boss, headed to DMA08 in Las Vegas. Coincidentally, one year ago to the day on October 13, 2007 -- I arrived at DMA07 in Chicago with Habeas, my previous employer that recently merged with Return Path. The Chicago trip is notable because the first impression I had of last year's DMA conference was a huge Lyris sign hanging above the escalator leading into McCormick Place West. Some people may not find these events and timing to be significant but I think it's interesting.
I'm back from DMA08 with a smooth landing, metaphorically, when considering I did not have a new job confirmed on September 20th after finishing my integration work for Return Path. So, I'm very thankful for what the Bay Area, an extended network and the Internet continues to bring my way. I look forward to collaborating with my new friends at Lyris to enable customers with an extraordinary value proposition that is all about doing more with less; and doing it better.
