    Growth is Good

Logo_clickz Recessions are a good time to grow. People can be more focused, alignment can be easier to achieve, urgency is typically in the air, and teams that innovate and collaborate well are often rewarded with competitive advantage and increased market share. Lyris recently announced its merger with Facultas in the UK; a partner of five years.

    Landed at Lyris

    by Erick Mott

Lyrislogo I’m pleased to announce that I joined Lyris, Incthis week as the new Communications Director focused on analyst relations, branding, customer advocacy, public relations, thought leadership and Web 2.0 strategies, programs and results. Lyris is an online marketing solutions leader based in the San Francisco Bay Area -- a company that delivers the right mix of software technology and industry knowledge to help SMB, mid-market and enterprise customers simplify their marketing efforts and optimize campaign ROI.

The first day on the job was uplifting as I found myself on a plane with Blaine Mathieu, our CMO and my new boss, headed to DMA08 in Las Vegas. Coincidentally, one year ago to the day on October 13, 2007 -- I arrived at DMA07 in Chicago with Habeas, my previous employer that recently merged with Return Path. The Chicago trip is notable because the first impression I had of last year's DMA conference was a huge Lyris sign hanging above the escalator leading into McCormick Place West. Some people may not find these events and timing to be significant but I think it's interesting.

I'm back from DMA08 with a smooth landing, metaphorically, when considering I did not have a new job confirmed on September 20th after finishing my integration work for Return Path. So, I'm very thankful for what the Bay Area, an extended network and the Internet continues to bring my way. I look forward to collaborating with my new friends at Lyris to enable customers with an extraordinary value proposition that is all about doing more with less; and doing it better.

More Cowbell and Email Innovation from Des Cahill's Perspective

    by Erick Mott

I'm happy to report that the Return Path and Habeas merger is going very well! Integration teams are well organized and everyone is working to provide the best service to customers and partners during this transition. Of course, there will be some changes -- one of which is the new Habeas.com website (fyi, prior site ) will soon point to the Return Path website. In the spirit of preservation and to recognize the innovation of many over the years, I included two of Des Cahill's August 2008 blog posts below regarding the acquisition and a recent CRM magazine award acknowledging Des' leadership and all Habeas employees...
