Creatorbase® is a digital-based community and media organization that was founded in the San Francisco Bay / Silicon Valley area in 2007 for business creators everywhere. Creatorbase publishes stories and coordinates professional development experiences in core areas of digital and sustainable business.
Learning, event, and story topics include purpose-driven brand strategy, sustainability, human-centered design, digital transformation, customer experience, modern marketing and sales, and workforce success with advanced practices and technologies.
Community & media objectives
Connection: Bring business creators together with digital and in-person experiences to learn, create value, and enable growth for their businesses and careers. Share knowledge and perspectives with others; have fun, too!
Co-creation: Organize small, multidisciplinary teams of business creators to focus their expertise, skills, and thought leadership on projects, learning experiences, and stories based on established goals, roles, and responsibilities.
The backstory and future
The original CreatorBase was co-created and launched in 2002 by Erick Mott and a small team for online collaboration and project management. It was a software-as-a-service (SaaS) application for Creator Connection, an open innovation network with paying members.
With the growth of web and social media technologies and Erick's desire to simplify, the original idea evolved into Creatorbase 2.0––a Community Practice strategy that is even more relevant today with digital transformation enabled by AI. Erick joined ServiceNow in February 2020 and was focused primarily on ServiceNow go-to-market strategies with innovation, communications, learning and development programs, with only occasional posts on Creatorbase social media channels.
That changed in January 2026.
With new AI tools and a renewed focus on community-led learning and development, the time is right to reimagine and launch a new Creatorbase community and media organization. Together, with digital and in-person experiences, we'll help business creators everywhere to connect, learn, create, and grow for the AI era.
